Privacy Policy

Why do I need a privacy policy?

Not really sure I do, but as I’m a nice guy and firm believer in privacy for individuals, I’ll have one anyway.

Comments

If you leave comments on here, then as far as I’m concerned you put it into the public domain and so I’m free to quote you. If you change your mind and want it removed, then ask nicely and I’ll probably delete it for you. Almost certainly.

If, and I don’t think this’ll ever happen, I have said something about you that is unfair, misrepresentative or just plain wrong, then ask me to correct or remove it and again, I probably will. I might ask you to prove your point if I think it’s fair and correct, but we can discuss this.

Media

If I’ve used an image that you think violates your privacy for any reason, then let me know. I’ll try and be reasonable about it and only resist if I really believe that it is more in the public interest to be online than in your interest for it not to be.

Cookies

I hate cookies. I hate cookie policies. I don’t want any cookies placed in your browser, but I’m damn sure that WordPress et al will try to put them there. Sorry. Feel free to block them and delete them. I won’t complain.

Embedded content from other websites

I’m pretty sure that it’s a good thing to embed content from other sites in mine. If you want it removed, you’re probably better off going to the site that I’m getting it from than asking me. But again, I’ll try to be fair about this.

Who we share your data with

I won’t share it with anyone. If WordPress or any of the other tools that I use on this site does, please feel free to complain. To WordPress. If somehow I do manage to get and share your data, I’m sorry and I won’t do it again.

How long we retain your data

Again, I don’t hold anything.

What rights you have over your data

You have all of the rights over your data and I have them over mine. OK?

Where your data is sent

Apparently, visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. I’m okay with that.
